Good news for all the Delhities.

Its a big initiative by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)

Khan market in Delhi is the first area where People can avail this Facility and soon Connaught place will get this service by the end of this month.This service is provided by Tata Docomo and Vodafone Partnered with NDMC.  The visitors in Khan market can avail this Facility by Filling Details Such as Email I’d  Mobile number after that You will receive a One time Password (OTP) and then you access Internet.After the free usage time is over you have to purchase a Scratch card to Continue using the Scratch cards are available at various shops in The khan marker area.

The Connaught place project was supposed to be launched in July, but got delayed due to various technical and logistical issues.

“CP being a large area, we cannot connect the service from pole to pole, as we have done in Khan Market. Also, we decided to shift the cables and transmission wires inside the 1.2 km long utility tunnel in CP, so that the display of the market doesn’t look ugly.

” Mishra said. The NDMC plans to launch this Wi-Fi services in other parts of the city as well with the help of Telecom Providers

“The WiFi facility in Khan Market started a few days ago. It is running successfully,” O P Mishra, who is handling the project, said.

“Five layers of security clearances have been passed by Vodafone and Tata. Transperency is a pre-requisite and the project can be physically monitored by the DoT,” Mishra said.
